Witches have their wands. Wands are nice, easy to transport, somewhat easy to come by. Wizards though, they've got staffs. The timeless ones do at least. You wouldn't see Gandalf the Grey or Merlin sporting a little wand, oh no. The powerful wizards who fight underground demons need some hefty equipment, and it has to look pretty spiffy too.

There's no doubt that this wizard staff packs a punch. We're guessing it was crafted by the elves but we can't promise anything. What we do know is it's bound to get you some respect at the upcoming wizard convention. The purple orb is eye-catching and mysterious, who knows what sort of power lies in that cloudy sphere. A powerful dragon curls itself around the orb, protecting the magic inside. We don't know what kind of magic you'll whip up with this staff but one thing's for sure, this staff sure beats a measly wand.

Questions & Answers

Q: What is the diameter of the sphere and what is the diameter of the staff handle (not including the tail)?
Thanks. (1 Answer)
Asked by E | 10 May 2026
Monster Responds...
The exact diameter of the orb and the handle aren't measurements we have for this staff, but the full assembled length is over 5 feet, which can give you a sense of the scale. The staff and orb are both molded plastic, and the staff snaps together in 3 pieces.

Q: What is the process to make the light stay on? Currently, it only lights up for @ 6 seconds, which is useless. Please help. (1 Answer)
Asked by EH | 27 October 2025
Monster Responds...
The orb is designed to light up while the button is held down, so keeping the button pressed is the way to hold the light on. If it's switching off on its own after a few seconds, it's worth trying a fresh pair of AA batteries, since low power can cause that kind of cutoff even with the demo batteries included.

Q: Can I use with only attaching 2 pieces instead of the 3?
I’m trying to adjust size for use by a child. (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 9 October 2024
Monster Responds...
Yes, the staff snaps together in three pieces, so you can absolutely use just two sections for a shorter length. The full assembled length is over 5 feet, so leaving one piece off will bring it down to roughly two-thirds of that, which should work much better for a smaller child.

Q: how to assemble? (1 Answer)
Asked by Anonymous | 27 September 2024
Monster Responds...
The staff snaps together from three pieces. Just connect them in order and you'll have a finished staff over five feet long.

How do I get it out to change the batteries?

Q: Can the dragon be removed & the orb be glued together (1 Answer)
Asked by Joan Rico | 25 March 2022
Monster Responds...
The staff and orb are one molded plastic piece, so there's no separate dragon component to remove. The three pieces that snap together make up the staff sections themselves. We don't have details on how the orb is attached to the top section, but since it's all molded plastic, gluing the snap joints is something you could do to make the assembly permanent.

The orb is molded plastic, not glass. It lights up when you press the button, and it runs on 2 AA batteries, which are included for demo use.
