The Long Way Round
Some kids are born explorers. You can tell when they're mere babies. These are the kids that turn over onto their bellies weeks before they're supposed to. They move on to exhibiting an alarming obsession with climbing the stairs and escaping out of doors. Then, when they're in kindergarten they might have a "why" phase, trying to learn as much as they can about the world as fast as possible. If your child is a natural explorer then you've probably found out about his natural tendencies, it's pretty hard to miss!
We're sure that Columbus showed off his curious side early on in life, testing the bounds of Italian village life as soon as he was toddling around. And when he was determined to find a new trade route to India, we bet no one was surprised when the explorer stopped at nothing until he had the ships he needed to see what lands lay beyond the Atlantic horizon!
Details & Design
Designed by our in-house creative team, this lush costume is perfect for school presentations, plays, as well as Halloween. The black tunic is belted at the waist. A faux-fur-trimmed coat is layered over top and has a wide cut that was fashionable in Columbus's time. The look is topped off with a hat that would look right at home at the helm of the Santa Maria.
